Midland College women’s basketball coach celebrates 700 career wins

Midland College faculty and staff gathered to honor an achievement in the career of Women’s Basketball Head Coach Ron Jones – surpassing 700 career wins. In recognition of the achievement, Jones was presented with a plaque "to commemorate such a significant achievement" in his coaching career. The announcement of this achievement was made in a Facebook post by Midland College.

MOVE Midland identifies two candidates for City Council endorsement

MOVE Midland aims to move Midland forward while focusing on our citizens’ tax dollars, well-being, and community vision. As part of this commitment, we look to endorse local candidates who align with these values. After a thorough evaluation, we have identified two candidates who each bring unique perspectives to the Midland City Council. While recognizing that both candidates have their strengths and limitations, we find it challenging to endorse one over the other. Therefore, we have requested personal statements from both candidates to provide voters with additional insights to aid in their decision-making process.

Infinium partners with Kinetik Holdings to advance carbon capture, eFuels production

Infinium, a producer of ultra-low carbon electrofuels ("eFuels"), has entered into an agreement with a subsidiary of Kinetik Holdings, a midstream energy company, to purchase carbon dioxide captured from Kinetik's gas processing system in the Permian Basin.

Midland College appoints Lori Haltom as director of new career connections initiative

This program is a collaboration between Midland College and Midland Independent School District, aiming to promote college and career awareness starting from the sixth grade. TxDOT develops plan for statewide multimodal transit

Midland ISD outlines plans for CTE program growth and dual credit expansion

At the April 16 school board meeting, Midland Independent School District (MISD) provided an update on enrollment projections and facilities planning for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs through 2028. The programs are a part of a partnership with Midland College (MC) to offer dual credit opportunities for students in a range of career fields. These plans align with the district's Bond 2023 schedule and expand high-demand programs of study.
