Conservative Businessman and Longtime Midland County Resident Jay Marquez Announces Campaign for Midland County Judge

Today, Jay Marquez announced his campaign for Midland County Judge. Marquez intends to run in the March 2026 Republican Primary.

“I have built my entire life in Midland County,” said Marquez. “The people in Midland have been good to me and my family, and I am ready to invest even more of my time to ensure that our community succeeds. We must lower our property tax burden, invest in roads and infrastructure, protect our water supply, and address organized crime. Now is the time to act.”

From an early age, Jay learned the importance of hard work. To help his family make ends meet, at 9 years old, Jay began delivering groceries for his neighbors. Throughout his life, whether he was working at Furr’s grocery store, at his automobile detailing business, or as a landman and independent oil and gas executive, Jay Marquez was hard at work for his family and this community.

Midway in his career, Jay and his wife of 32 years, Marie, founded Teen F.L.O.W, a faith-based non-profit organization that reaches out with the gospel to at-risk youth and helps them develop critical life skills. The organization is now in its second generation of leadership, with former program participants in key leadership roles.

Jay Marquez is a strong conservative Republican who supports President Donald Trump’s vision for America. As our next Midland County Judge, Jay will stand up for our Christian conservative values.

“It’s time for Midland County to have a County Judge who will not compromise our conservative principles and side with Democrats in our local elections,” said Marquez. “Across the United States, conservatives are uniting to accomplish major, conservative policy victories. Midland County cannot be left behind.”

Jay Marquez is the Managing Partner of Xanderprise, LLC, an independent oil and gas company based in Midland, Texas. Jay and his wife Marie also co-own and operate Antojo Pura Vida Cocina y Cantina. Jay and Marie are active in Greenwood Baptist Church, and they still spend many hours each week supporting the work of Teen F.L.O.W. In his spare time, Jay is an avid mountain climber and nature photographer. Marie and Jay enjoy spending as much time as they can with their children and grandchildren.
