Midland College assistant credits career success to father's work ethic

Joanne Thames was raised by a father with a 7th-grade education, yet his constant reading instilled in her a strong work ethic. Thames credits him for instilling the drive that propelled her through a career spanning over 30 years in the energy industry and the last two years in higher education. Her father fostered a love for reading in her, making Thames an avid reader who particularly enjoys delving into management books, mystery novels, and faith-based material. Thames is now the assistant to the executive director of Facilities & Grounds at Midland College.

According to a statement from the City of Midland, the repair work is expected to take approximately six hours. City of Midland: Second Water Main Break in Central Midland

The City of Midland is currently dealing with a second water main break in central Midland. According to reports, the water break took place at the 900 block of North Dallas Street. As a result, 26 residential homes are expected to face a service disruption. The repair work is estimated to take around six hours as crews from the city are working diligently to restore the water supply.In response to the situation, drivers have been advised to exercise caution and avoid the affected areas whenever feasible.
