After a quarter-century of service, the sound system at Astsound Broadband Stadium is set to be replaced. This move comes in response to grievances from spectators and referees regarding sound levels. The Midland City Council has approved a purchase cost of $720,205, which includes a 10% contingency.


Midland SWAT Responds to Assault Call on Lanham Street

Midland SWAT was called out to the 4400 block of Lanham Street in reference to an assault. The incident took place on Monday, Feb. 20, 2024, around 8:30 p.m.The authorities have not disclosed further details about the incident at this time.


Legacy High School student's artwork wins state competition

Legacy High School senior Mariah Iacovone has achieved first place at the Texas Campus Crime Stoppers Conference for her artwork. The winning piece, created using colored pencils, encapsulates various elements such as police officers, the Crime Stoppers app, and a West Texas sunset. As a result of this victory, Mariah's artwork will be exhibited at the Texas Crime Stoppers office located in the State Capitol in Austin.
