Permian Strategic Partnership expands with new members Energy Transfer and Phillips 66

The Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP) has announced the inclusion of Energy Transfer and Phillips 66 as its newest members, bringing the total membership to 31. Since its inception five years ago, PSP has nearly doubled in size and significantly expanded its impact across Southeast New Mexico and West Texas. The organization collaborates with federal, state, and local leaders to develop strategic plans aimed at enhancing education, healthcare, workforce development, infrastructure, and road safety.

Midland Crime Stoppers has offered a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of a 54-year-old man wanted for murder. Wilburt Ray Davis is accused of killing 34-year-old Kendra Vollmers last month.


Cruz and Kaine introduce bipartisan bill for constitutional training for military officers

U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Tim Kaine (D-Va.), members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, introduced the Constitutional Orientation Military Mandate Amplifying National Duty (COMMAND) Act. This bipartisan bill aims to ensure that newly commissioned U.S. military officers receive training on the Constitution before reporting to their first operational assignment.


Space-based summer program will be open to 8th through 12th grade MISD students

High school students interested in participating in a space-based program still have the opportunity to do so. A joint partnership by the Midland Development Corporation and Midland Independent School District (ISD) allows 8th to 12th graders to sign up for Go For Launch! at Abell Junior High.

The Midland Fire Department (MFD) responded to a fire at the F. Marie Hall Outpatient Center, located at 4214 Andrews Highway, at approximately 7:32 p.m. on May 4. The fire, which began on the second-floor balcony, extended into the walls of the former Midland Memorial West campus.

Senator Cruz honors 80th anniversary of D-Day with commemorative statement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) released a statement in honor of the 80th anniversary of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched Operation Overlord, the code name for the massive Allied invasion of Normandy, France, involving more than 150,000 troops. The operation resulted in over 29,000 U.S. servicemembers being killed or injured, including more than 6,000 on the first day.
