Lucile Sanders, born on March 9th, 1936 in Elysian Fields, Texas, to Alonzo Sanders and Ruby Anderson, passed away on June 5th, 2024, in Midland, Texas at the age of eighty-eight. A dedicated employee of Midland Memorial Hospital for 30 years, Lucile retired with a remarkable career. She was a devoted member of Greater Ideal Baptist Church, actively participating in the Women’s Mission Ministry until circumstances prevented her attendance.

Known for her culinary talents, Lucile delighted in cooking and baking for her family, showcasing her remarkable ability to create dishes without the use of measurements. Her cooking prowess was surpassed only by her exceptional mothering skills, as she lovingly cared for her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lucile epitomized qualities of morality, integrity, and respect, leaving an indelible imprint as an outstanding role model.

Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four sisters, Lucile is survived by her three daughters - Gail Griffen, Janet Watkins, and Fragrance Hale, as well as four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Her legacy of love, faith, and cooking acumen will forever be cherished by those who were touched by her presence. The profound loss of Lucile will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved her.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home, with the funeral service scheduled for Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11:00 am at Greater Ideal Baptist Church. A private burial will follow the service.
