Midland Memorial Hospital (MMH) announced that Dr. Madhusmita Panda of Midland served as the Texas Legislature’s Physician of the Day at the State Capitol in Austin on April 2.
According to MMH's April 4 Facebook post, during each legislative session, a member of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians (TAFP) provides their services at the Capitol, and their name becomes a permanent part of the official legislative record.
Texas State Senator Kevin Sparks shared an image of himself and Dr. Panda on his Instagram account. "I am grateful for her dedication to healthcare and service to our district," Sparks wrote in the post.
Midland Health’s website states that Dr. Panda is the newest addition to Wall Street Internal Medicine, a primary care practice located at 2402 W. Wall St. She trained at Veer Surendra Sai Medical College in India, and shortly after arriving in the Permian Basin in 2018, she completed her residency in Family Medicine with Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Panda is double board certified in Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine.
