Senior Life Midland marked the one-year anniversary of its Community Volunteer Program, celebrating a milestone in community engagement and support for senior citizens in Midland.
Over the past year, the program welcomed 129 new volunteers, bringing the total to 503 individuals who have contributed more than 53,000 documented volunteer hours.
The Community Volunteer Program offers opportunities for individuals of all ages to support and improve the lives of local seniors. Volunteers participate in initiatives including Meals on Wheels, minor home repairs through the Handyman program, and companionship services. These efforts help seniors maintain independence and dignity in their own homes.
Senior Life Midland thanked the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) participants who transitioned into the new program, as well as new volunteers who joined throughout the year. The organization highlighted the continued commitment of the community to supporting its older population.
Those interested in volunteering can contact Valerie Garza or Saul Herrera at 432-689-6693. The program continues to welcome new volunteers who want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of Midland’s senior residents.
