The Midland girls’ track team was the runner up in the Greenwood Todd Martin Ranger Relays with 88 points, tied with Lubbock Coronado. Midland Legacy took the top spot with 198 points.

The Midland boys’ track team may have been shorthanded but, the team came together to win the Greenwood Todd Martin Ranger Relays over the weekend with a score of 143. The Bulldogs beat out Midland Legacy, who was second with 118 points.

The Midland boys’ golf team placed fifth out of 21 teams at the Bobby Dunn Memorial Golf Tournament, and Coach Edi DeLucas said this is just the start for the Bulldogs.

Rebels place 3rd, Bulldogs 11th at Region 1-6A championship swim meet
The Midland Legacy boys’ swimming and diving team placed third at the UIL Region 1-6A Championship last weekend, with the 200 meter freestyle relay team winning bronze with a time of 1:25.69. The Midland Bulldogs placed 11th in the meet with a score of 12 points.

Krueger takes two golds in Region 1-6A swimming championship meet
The Midland Legacy girls’ swimming team placed fourth and Midland took fifth in the UIL Region 1-6A Championship on Feb. 9 with a score of 152 and 146 respectively. Hannah Krueger of the Bulldogs was the top swimmer in the area with a pair of gold medals.

Lady Bulldogs fall to Eastwood in bi-district playoff
The Midland Lady Bulldogs (13-19, 3-7) came out determined to give the Eastwood Troopers (26-5, 14-2) a run for their money, and a shot an an upset. While it was close in the early stages, Eastwood dominated most of the game in a commanding 60-23 win in the Class 6A bi-district playoff on Feb. 13.

The 2024 track and field season is underway for local teams who participated at the Rogers Ford Tall City Relays at Memorial Stadium on Feb. 9, with Midland winning the boys’ meet and the girls’ team placing fourth.

Midland can't recover from early deficit in 65-54 loss to San Angelo
Midland (13-17, 1-6) went down big early and while they mounted a fourth quarter comeback attempt, the deficit was too great to recover from in a 64-54 loss to San Angelo Central (23-10, 5-2) on Feb. 2.
