Midland College's Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honors Society recently participated in the 2025 Texas Regional Convention held in Houston, where they achieved significant recognition. The chapter returned with multiple awards and led educational workshops for attendees.

Among the 97 PTK chapters across Texas, Midland College's chapter has consistently shown outstanding performance, maintaining its Five-Star Chapter status for seven consecutive years. This year, the students of MC PTK brought home numerous accolades.

"Watching our Phi Theta Kappa students be recognized for their dedication, hard work, and leadership was an incredible experience," said Dr. Terry Gilmour, Advisor and Division 1 Coordinator for Phi Theta Kappa. "As an educator, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing students seize opportunities to learn, grow, and make a real difference in the lives of others. Their passion for academic excellence and service truly shines, and I could not be prouder to celebrate these well-earned achievements with them."

The members of MC PTK also had the honor of hosting two workshops during the event.

Midland College congratulates all PTK members on their success and looks forward to upholding this tradition of excellence.

Phi Theta Kappa is recognized as the world's largest honor society for two-year college students. It focuses on recognizing academic achievement while fostering leadership and service skills among its members since its founding in 1918.
