The Midland College Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Christine Gentry Foreman as a new member. Foreman was sworn in by the Honorable Leah Robertson during the board meeting on December 17, 2024. She replaces retiring board member Steve Castle.
"We are thrilled to welcome Christine to the Midland College Board of Trustees,” said MC President Dr. Damon Kennedy. “Christine’s deep commitment to the Midland community, her passion for education, and her drive to make a positive impact will undoubtedly bring energy and perspective to our Board. Her dedication to service and her strong ties to Midland will help guide us as we continue to reimagine the future for our students and the community we serve."
Foreman expressed her enthusiasm for joining the board, stating, “I’m excited to have the opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting and advancing the important work of Midland College alongside my 8 fellow trustees.”
Christine Gentry Foreman is known for her community advocacy and leadership in Midland, Texas. An alumna of Midland ISD schools, she continued her education at both Midland College and Texas A&M University before working as a Registered Nurse for ten years. Following this career, she focused on volunteerism and championing community initiatives.
Her involvement includes contributions through Girl Scouts and Junior League training, participating in various committees, boards, foundations, and PTAs with an emphasis on improving student opportunities in the Permian Basin.
Professionally, she has served as Community and Public Relations Liaison at Region 18 Education Service Center. Currently, she is Student Transformation State Director for Maxwell Leadership where she oversees iLEAD's statewide implementation—a values-based student leadership program developed by John Maxwell.
In addition to her professional commitments, Christine is dedicated to her family life as a wife and mother.
At the same meeting on December 17th, current board members Vice-Chairperson Charlene McBride (Place 6) and Mike Oestmann (Place 4) were also sworn in.
