Midland College has announced that its golf team and 13 individual athletes have been recognized with NJCAA All-Academic honors. These awards celebrate student-athletes who excel in both academics and sports.
The college's athletic director, Forrest Allen, expressed pride in the students' achievements. “We are exceedingly proud of our student athletes for distinguishing themselves in the classroom,” he said. He highlighted the challenges of balancing academic and athletic commitments, noting, “The balancing of academic and athletic pursuits are often not given full credit by many who don’t understand the considerable sacrifices it takes to excel in both arenas.”
To receive NJCAA All-Academic recognition, students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.60 on a 4.00 scale. Allen stated, “Midland College is honored to recognize these 13 individuals, as well as, the Midland College golf team for earning these incredible honors.”
The Midland College golf team was named NJCAA Academic Team of the Year with a cumulative GPA of 3.81.
Athletes from various sports including golf, volleyball, women’s basketball, baseball, and softball were acknowledged for their academic success.
Midland College continues to support its student-athletes by providing resources and an environment conducive to success in both academic and athletic fields.
