Midland College is set to renovate two student housing buildings starting next year.
The announcement was made in an April 8 filing with a state regulatory agency. The project involves renovating the 28,760 square-foot student housing building, Daniel Hall, at a cost of $7 million.
According to the filings, Derek Gasch, Midland College’s vice president of operations, is leading the projects. The renovation of Daniel Hall is expected to begin on January 12, 2026, and be completed by September 11, 2026.
Midland College’s website notes that Daniel Hall is a two-floor co-ed residence hall that can house 96 residents. It was completed in August 2000 and dedicated to former Midland College President David E. Daniel in September 2012.
In a separate filing, the college announced it will spend $7 million on repairs to Craddick Hall, another 28,760 square-foot student housing building. Work on this building will commence on September 14, 2026, and be completed by June 11, 2027. Houston-based design firm DLR Group handled the architectural aspects of the projects. The student housing buildings are located at 3600 North Garfield Street.
A school website notes that Craddick Hall is a two-floor co-ed residence hall that can house up to 94 residents. Meanwhile, O'Shaughnessy Hall, another student residence building which can accommodate up to 88 residents, is closed for renovation until spring 2026.
