Communities In Schools® (CIS®), the leading provider of K-12 school-based integrated student supports in the nation, is set to celebrate the accomplishments of high school seniors as they embark on their next life phase. This could involve entering the workforce, serving in the military, or pursuing higher education.

This spring, CIS plans to honor students with a mix of virtual and in-person events, virtual cards from supporters, and a storytelling initiative that highlights the experiences of high school seniors on their journey to graduation.

“We are excited to showcase these resilient young people who have worked hard and persevered, especially in the face of challenges exacerbated by the global pandemic,” said Cecilia Lee, CIS Principal of Alumni Relations. “They have proven that nothing can stand in the way of their dreams. The future is bright for the class of 2024, and we can't wait to see all they will achieve.”

For over 45 years, Communities In Schools has been instrumental in helping students develop necessary skills and mindset for post-secondary success. The organization's integrated student supports model is a coordinated approach designed to ensure schools and students are connected to needed resources at the right time so they can reach their goals.

The 2024 Graduation Campaign features updates from alumni and several senior success stories including:

Jy'Mir: Creating a Pathway to a Bright Future

Starting his journey in second grade at Virginia Cross Elementary, Jy'Mir is one among many students whose lives have been transformed by CIS. He has received several acceptance letters from colleges throughout North Carolina and plans to focus his studies on cybersecurity.

Bria: Finishing Strong

At risk of not finishing high school due to missed days and falling behind on credits, Bria's path took a hopeful turn when she was referred to CIS of Northwest Michigan®. After graduation, she dreams of attending Northwestern Michigan College to study early childhood development with aspirations of opening her own daycare.

Communities In Schools invites everyone to help create equitable learning environments that benefit and support all students. To learn more about CIS’ Graduation Campaign, visit https://www.communitiesinschools.org/2024-graduation-stories.
