Midland’s CrossFit athlete Arielle Loewen finished in third place after scoring 883 points during the women’s competition of the 2023 NoBull CrossFit Games held earlier this month in Madison, Wisconsin, a Midland Reporter-Telegram report reveals.

"Fittest athletes in the country who are full-time, sponsored, get paid to do this and I get to go compete with them," Loewen said.

The title marks Loewen’s as the “third fittest woman in the world, the fittest American and the fittest mother in the world,” according to the MRT article.

Loewen fell two slots behind the winner, Italy’s Laura Horvath, who scored 966 points, and one behind Canada’s Emma Lawson in second (919).

She became eligible for the six-event competition upon finishing in third place three times. in the cross-country 5 km race, she came in third place at 18 minutes, 21.21 seconds. She also ranked third for the muscle-up logs at 9:38.84 and third in intervals in 8:11.96. She also finished sixth in the parallel bar pull at 9:28.97.

"As a high schooler I couldn't afford it, so they were nice enough to let me clean the gym and clean their sweat towels in exchange for membership," the CrossFit champion said, recalling her efforts to kick off her sports career.

The athlete currently ranks as the “fourth-best woman in the world in CrossFit,” an improvement from her previously ranking as No. 16 on the list.

"I couldn't ask for someone better to represent the gym. She just has a great head on her shoulders, good Christian," Levi Kirk, owner of Renew Strength CrossFit said, according to a NewsWest9 report.
