The Midland RockHounds commenced the 2025 season with a 7-5 victory over the Arkansas Travelers at Momentum Bank Ballpark on April 4.
A postgame Facebook post by the RockHounds prominently featured an image of first baseman Brennan Milone with his statistics from the game. Milone achieved a 1-for-3 at bat, with his sole hit being a double that allowed left fielder Bryan Buelvas and third baseman Luke Mann to score during the bottom of the third inning.
According to the game's scoring summary on the RockHounds website, Milone's RBI double tied the game at 2-2. The Travelers built another two-run lead in the fifth, making it 4-2, until Milone and right fielder Henry Bolte were each hit by a pitch. This situation loaded the bases, allowing a man to score and knotting the contest at 4-4. Infielders Shane McGuire, Colby Halter, and Euribiel Angeles were walked during their respective at-bats, with Midland scoring a run each time because the bases were loaded. Angeles's walk gave the RockHounds a 7-4 lead.
The summary indicated that the Travelers did not score again until the seventh when Midland surrendered an RBI single. RockHounds starting pitcher James Gonzalez earned the win following five innings on the mound. Midland and Arkansas have two more games in their series, which runs through April 6.
