West Texas FC (WTXFC) has announced the return of local player Alan Martinez through a Facebook post.
According to WTXFC's April 2 announcement, Martinez, who graduated from Midland Independent School District’s Lee High School, now known as Legacy High School, and is a student-athlete at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, became a fan favorite for the club last summer.
Martinez is listed as a fullback and played a significant role in the final stretch of playoff games, aiding WTXFC in securing the 2024 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Lonestar Conference regular season and playoff championships. The club also reached the NPSL South Region finals last year. In his collegiate career, Martinez appeared in 13 games for the Buffaloes men's soccer team as a sophomore.
Head coach Scotty Murray expressed enthusiasm for Martinez's return. "He’s improved drastically since last season and I’m excited for him to rejoin the boys again this summer," Murray said in the post.
