Rebels’ Maltos headed to Sul Ross State University

Legacy High School placekicker Jason Maltos has announced his commitment to play football at Sul Ross State University.

Maltos made the announcement on X, stating that the signing will take place on April 16 at 3:20 p.m. in the Turf Room. The Rebels’ head coach, Clint Hartman, expressed enthusiasm on X, stating that the school "got a great one," while running backs coach Ector Lopez added that the university "is getting an amazing young man and a talented P/K."

According to MaxPreps, Maltos scored 55 points during the season for the Rebels. He successfully completed two out of four field goal attempts, with his longest being 33 yards. Additionally, he was successful in 49 out of 54 point-after-touchdown attempts.

Maltos' teammate, defensive back Tristian Niles Taylor, also recently announced on X his decision to play for the St. George Eagles, a junior college football program based in Utah.
