Warm temperatures are back in the forecast for Midland this week

A warming trend is anticipated in the Midland region this week following last week's arctic cold blast, according to a post from the National Weather Service (NWS) Midland.

The NWS Midland forecasts highs in the upper 60s and lower 80s throughout the week. "Warmer weather is officially back for the next couple of days across west Texas and southeast New Mexico," the organization wrote.

According to the NWS, Sunday will experience a high of 73 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 38. Monday is expected to be sunny, with temperatures reaching a high near 82 and a low of 44. On Tuesday, conditions will remain sunny with a high near 83 and a low of 48. Temperatures are predicted to dip slightly on Wednesday with an expected high of 70 and a low of 39. Thursday's weather is projected to be mostly clear, with highs near 64 and lows at 41, while Friday will see highs around 72 and lows at 44.

"Temperatures continue to slowly moderate this weekend across the southern and eastern U.S. as most of the country trends towards a period of milder temperatures," said the NWS in its short-range forecast for the week.
