Two local high school football athletes have garnered attention from a sports news outlet for their promising futures on the field.

According to Six Star Football, Midland Christian offensive lineman Rowdy Pearce and Midland High offensive lineman Pulelei’ite Primus are attracting significant university offers and are expected to visit these institutions in the spring. Both juniors were included in the website's "stock risers" list.

Pearce recently announced on X that he had spoken with Rice University's offensive line coach Vince Munch and received his sixth scholarship offer from the Houston-based institution. Six Star Football notes that Pearce stands at 6’4 and weighs 285 pounds, with additional offers from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), Vanderbilt University, the University of Wyoming, and the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). "His ability to fire off the ball and drive defenders back makes him one of the more physically imposing linemen in his class," the website reported.

Primus has been recognized as a highly sought-after athlete from the Midland area over the past year. He recently shared on X that he had narrowed his options to 13 schools, including Texas Tech University, Baylor University, the University of Houston, and Texas Christian University (TCU). Six Star Football reports that Primus, who is 6’4 and weighs 326 pounds, has received at least 17 Division I offers. "Massive, powerful, and technically refined, Primus is the definition of a dominant interior lineman," said Six Star Football.
