The 2025 Midland Independent School District (MISD) Career and Technical Education (CTE) Showcase and Industry Expo was deemed a success, as reported in a district Facebook post.

According to the MISD, over 700 students and their parents engaged with teachers and industry experts to explore career options. "Students in grades 6-12 will be working with campus and C3 counselors in the coming weeks to select courses that align with their academic and career goals," the district said. They expressed gratitude towards industry, academic, and community partners, including peers at Midland College (MC).

Midland College also shared on Facebook that students had the chance to explore careers in fields such as automotive, natural gas compression, automation, petroleum energy technology, health science, among others. "Our hands-on programs give students the skills they need to succeed in these industries and build a bright future," MC noted. "Partnerships like these make it all possible, creating valuable opportunities for students to gain real-world experience and prepare for successful careers that fuel the Permian Basin and beyond."

The event took place on January 28 at the Horseshoe Pavilion. Representatives from University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB), Sul Ross State University, and Angelo State University were present to discuss career paths with students.
