Midland College (MC) continues to emphasize its natural gas compression program as a means to develop highly skilled workers.

"West Texas runs on oil and gas, and MC is proud to collaborate with the industry to develop generations of workforce talent that keep it thriving," the college said in a Facebook post.

According to the school’s website, natural gas compression plays a crucial role in various businesses by powering critical machinery and systems necessary for operations. Natural gas compression technicians ensure that gas gathering units and transmission pipelines function smoothly. These technicians are essential to the energy sector, providing numerous job opportunities for those pursuing a career in this field.

At Midland College, "we believe in the power of hands-on training and real-world experience," said the institution. Recently, Royce Tucker, Regional Manager at K&R Operating LLC., visited second-year dual credit diesel and gas compression students to share valuable career insights. "It's opportunities like these that ensure our students are fully prepared for the workplace," added MC.

Students interested in becoming natural gas technicians may be eligible for funding and other financial assistance from Workforce Solutions, according to Midland College. There is a Workforce Solutions office located on the school’s main campus.
