Midland College’s Women’s Basketball team, the Lady Chaps, will host a free basketball clinic for female students in grades 3 through 8. The event is scheduled for two dates: Saturday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 26. Registration for both clinics will start at 9:30 a.m., with instruction beginning at 10 a.m. at the Midland College P.E. Building gymnasium.

The clinic aims to teach young athletes fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and teamwork in a positive environment. Participants will receive hands-on instruction from collegiate-level players and coaching staff.

“We are thrilled to host this clinic once again,” said Head Coach Ron Jones. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to inspire the next generation of female athletes. Basketball is not just a sport; it’s a platform for building confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. We can’t wait to share our love for the game with these young players, and hopefully create some future Lady Chaps!”

Assistant Coach Cory Hill added, “This clinic is about more than just basketball; it’s about creating a supportive community for young girls to grow and develop both on and off the court. We hope to inspire these athletes to pursue their passions and realize their potential.”

Registration for the clinic is free but space is limited. Interested participants are encouraged to sign up early.
