"Check out the Day 10 recap. We’ve added a few new categories to the report!" the district stated.

According to the post, there are currently 29,506 students enrolled across 39 campuses within the district, representing 52 languages spoken. This number includes 1,294 pre-kindergarten students and 226 Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) instructors. The TIA program empowers school districts to reward and retain top-performing teachers. Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Howard emphasized the district's commitment to its Strategic Plan in a welcome letter posted on the district's website. "As we begin this new school year we are rolling into the second year of our Strategic Plan and will continue to keep it front and center. The three pillars within this plan are student experience, grow and develop staff, and engage and act," Howard wrote.

Howard further elaborated on the plan's impact: "Our strategic plan has served as a comprehensive roadmap that holds us accountable for improving the academic success of our students, school, and staff. We have 28 initiatives in the strategic plan, success metrics to monitor the effectiveness of each project, and we are proud to share that work with you as we prepare for an outstanding 2024-2025 school year in Midland ISD!"

According to her LinkedIn profile, Howard has been leading Midland ISD since December 2022 and is beginning her 30th year in education. She previously served as superintendent for Crane ISD and deputy superintendent for Ector County ISD. Howard holds a doctorate in education from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
