The Midland Independent School District’s (MISD) Office of Financial Services has earned two awards for excellence in financial reporting. Both the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) recognized the Permian Basin public school district with the Award of Excellence in Financial Reporting.
According to MISD Chief Financial Officer Tucker Durham, these accolades reflect the district's dedication to maintaining high standards of financial integrity and transparency. In a July 7 press release issued by the district, Durham stated, "The accolades reflect its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and transparency."
Durham added that MISD is committed to continuing to provide Midland County taxpayers with accurate and transparent information and aims to earn additional honors in the future.
The release noted that 2024 marks the third consecutive year the district has been recognized for its commitment to financial transparency and best practices.
MISD plans to recognize the Office of Financial Services at an upcoming school board meeting, according to the release.
