ProPetro announced the appointment of Alex Volkov to its board of directors on May 9. Volkov joined as ExxonMobil's designee under the Investor Rights Agreement between ProPetro and Pioneer Natural Resources Pumping Services LLC, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil.
“We extend a warm welcome to Alex who is bringing with him a wealth of experience from ExxonMobil,” said ProPetro Chief Executive Officer Sam Sledge in a press release on May 13. “His proven leadership and industry acumen will be invaluable as we continue to execute on our strategy and deliver value to all our stakeholders.”
Volkov brings 30 years of experience in various roles within ExxonMobil, according to the release. He currently serves as the transition executive, where he is responsible for planning the integration of Pioneer Natural Resources Company with ExxonMobil's Unconventional business.
According to the release, Volkov attended the University of Nizhni Novgorod in Russia and later earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama. His career at ExxonMobil began in 1997 and his experience includes leadership roles in marketing, business development, and international natural gas marketing and trading efforts.
ProPetro also announced that Mark Berg, who has been a director on the board since February 2019 and was previously appointed as Pioneer's designee, will continue to serve as an independent director, in the May 9 release.
