Midland ranked in the top third of 370 metropolitan areas across the nation for the best places for new college graduates, according to SmartAsset.
The report on the financial information website showed Midland ranked seventh among Texas metropolitan areas and 104th overall. Metro areas were ranked according to six metrics measuring the job market, cost of living and social factors.
The report showed Midland posted a 0.4% unemployment rate among new college graduates, a median income of $64,918 for college graduates and showed that 14.3% of the population was aged 20-29.
The leading metropolitan areas across the nation were Oshkosh-Neenah, Wisconsin; Lawrence, Kansas; and College Station-Bryan. The leading Texas metropolitan areas were College Station-Bryan, San Angelo and Lubbock. Midland ranked ahead of markets like Abilene (106th), San Antonio-New Braunfels (176th), Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington (196th), Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land (260th), El Paso (262nd) and Odessa (364th).
