MISD announces hiring of three educators during school board meeting

The Midland Independent School District (ISD) approved the appointment of three new administrators during its school board meeting on [Date].

The ISD announced in a press release that Beau Garza has been appointed as Executive Director of Fine Arts, Morgan Robertson will serve as Principal at the newly established Lone Star Trails Elementary School, and Maria Amancio will take on the role of Principal at Goddard Junior High.

Ashley Osborne, an Associate Superintendent for Teaching & Learning said "We are #MISDProud of these three exceptional leaders!" on X platform.

Garza is the lead orchestra director for Legacy High School and has served as department chair for the school’s fine arts department over the past four years. The ISD statement described Garza as "a well-respected and well-known member of the arts community within the Permian Basin."

Robertson's career in education began at Abell Junior High School. She spent three years as an Assistant Principal at Jones Elementary and Greathouse Elementary. An alumna of MISD, Robertson also served as assistant principal of Goddard Junior High and is presently serving as principal of General Franks Elementary.

Amancio's experience in education spans over 23 years, including six years working in Midland ISD. Prior to her transition into administration roles, Amancio served for four years as Assistant Principal at Goddard Junior High. She currently holds the position of associate principal at Goddard.
