Midland College Pre-K Academy leaders presented with grant from Midland Education Foundation | Midland Education Foundation

The Midland College Pre-K Academy has received a donation of $6,000 from the Midland Education Foundation to support its Literacy Initiative. The grant was presented on April 12.

According to a Pre-K Academy at Midland College Facebook post, the funds will be used to purchase one book per month for each child at the academy. People from the community will be invited to read to the children and then provide each child with a copy of the books read.

This grant is part of a broader effort by the Midland Education Foundation to enhance educational opportunities across various schools in the district. The foundation awarded grants to other schools as part of its Grants for Great Ideas program, benefiting students and teachers through initiatives such as Legacy High School's 10th-grade novels, Legacy High School's Life Long Learners, Midland High School's AFJROTC, and Midland High School's Bridging Biotech.

The Midland Education Foundation supports a range of academic disciplines, including fine arts, robotics, science, technology, engineering, math, and history. Funding for the foundation's initiatives is provided by community donations and is not directly managed by Midland ISD, according to the Midland Education Foundation website.
