The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) will host two Admissions & Advising Fairs where they will offer scholarships and waive application fees. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a team of experts who will guide them through the application process and help facilitate enrollment in classes.

The Admissions & Advising Fairs are scheduled to take place on the first floor of the Mesa Building in the enrollment lobby. The first fair will be held Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. and the second fair will be held Friday, Jan. 12 from noon to 4 p.m.

UTPB is waiving the $40 application fee for all fair attendees as well as offering a $1,000 scholarship specifically designed for students transferring from other institutions. These opportunities align with the Falcon Free program, which is available to all undergraduate students in Texas.

Prospective students are encouraged to bring their unofficial transcript(s) to the fairs. First-time freshmen students, transfer students, and graduate students are welcomed to attend.

The Falcon Free program is a plan that covers the cost of tuition and mandatory fees for students, excluding master's, second bachelor's, and certification-seeking students. As stated on the UTPB’s website, the Falcon Free program was created due to the belief that “a college education is transformative and money shouldn’t hold [students] back.”

According to money.com, UTPB is ranked No. 10 for the Top 10 Best Colleges in Texas. There are currently 7,072 students enrolled at UTPB and the university offers over 75 undergraduate and graduate degrees to enrolled students.
