At Stake: Permian has won back-to-back games and last week upset Midland. The Panthers are on a roll just in time for the bi-district game of the Class 6A-Division 1 playoffs.
What to watch: This is a rematch of last year’s bi-district playoff game where Pebble Hills knocked off Permian 45-28.
Permian beat Midland last week in a game where Juzstyce Lara had 164 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Lara has been the lead back and is the focal point of the Panther offense week in and week out.
Watch out for Jakob Garcia, who looked great against Midland both passing and running the ball. He as 9-for-13 for 135 yards and a touchdown pass to Luke Paradeaux. Garcia also carried the ball five times for 42 yards.
Garcia has 704 yards passing, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. He has thrown at a 55.7% completion rate.
On the season Lara has 186 carries for 1,293 yards and 16 touchdowns. Gage Murphy has been the top receiver with 21 catches for 317 yards and three scores.
Pebble Hills has won four straight and have outscored opponents 354-191 this year. Last week they beat Eastlake 32-21.
Senior quarterback Gael Ochoa finished off the season strong with 19-for-26, 338 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran the ball 15 times for 80 yards and scored.
Zereian Quarles had a rushing touchdown, with 59 yards on 15 carries. He also had five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown. Freshman receiver Omarion Wallace had a huge day with five receptions, 168 yards and a score.
