Midland-based computer consultant Wellteck IT has been acquired by South Carolina technology firm VC3, according to a press release. The acquisition will allow it to expand its footprint in the southwestern U.S. and provide a greater local presence in Texas, according to VC3.

“Wellteck and VC3 share many similar core values, strong synergies between our teams and an untiring commitment to serving our clients,” VC3 head Ryan Vestby said. “Better together, our teams collectively offer a great depth and breadth of knowledge in managed services, cybersecurity, cloud, compliance, data backup, disaster recovery and strategic IT planning.”

Vestby said Wellteck’s “strong local presence” in the Lone Star State bolsters its North American presence across 34 states and eight Canadian provinces.

“This partnership, coupled with our decades of experience, allows us to continue serving clients of all sizes and industries in Texas and throughout North America,” Vestby said.

Dylan Todd founded Wellteck nearly a decade ago, saying VC3’s acquisition of his company will prove beneficial, according to the press release.

“I’m very blessed and honored to have been given the opportunity to start, run and build Wellteck since January 2014,” Todd said. “With VC3’s partnership, Wellteck’s dedicated team members now have more room and a higher ceiling under which to grow.

“And, with a bigger team and more competencies, we can deliver a better and more refined experience for our clients. I’m excited about the continuing evolution of Wellteck’s team and clients under VC3,” he said.

Vestby said he looks forward to working with Wellteck.

“The future holds only excitement and opportunity for our two teams,” he said.

Per Wellteck’s website, the company provides IT support for small and medium businesses throughout Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma, with approximately 100 small and medium-sized businesses counted among its clientele as of the start of last year.
