Diamondback Energy has launched its latest educational initiative, the Diamondback DNA Mentorship Program.
According to a March 12 Facebook post, the company, which specializes in hydrocarbon exploration, hosted a kick-off event for students and mentors at its Midland headquarters. "We're eager to share our experiences and knowledge with the next generation of oil and gas engineers," Diamondback wrote in the post.
The program focuses on equipping freshmen in the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Midland College with preparation and career readiness, the company said. Several Diamondback employees serve as mentors to support the students in navigating their academic and professional journeys.
Diamondback's mentorship program is not its only educational initiative in the region. The energy company also collaborates with the Midland Independent School District by sponsoring the Midland Education Foundation's Micro Grants.
