A leader in automotive specialty products marketing and distribution has announced the opening of a new location in Midland, Texas.

According to a news release, Jasper, Indiana-based Meyer Distributing, Inc. has opened a cross-dock location. Cross-docking involves directly transferring goods from one mode of transportation to another, bypassing traditional warehousing and storage.

"The Midland dock is part of a broader West Texas rollout to beef up our logistics network," states Jeff Braun, CEO of Meyer Distributing. "We’ll have increased daily truck capacity significantly for the Midland/Odessa region for very large, commercial orders while expanding deliveries more broadly to rural West Texas reaching as far as Pecos, Fort Stockton, Sonora, Mason, Brady and other smaller market towns that aren’t getting affordable truck service."

Braun further explains that the Midland cross-dock will have a direct feed from Meyer’s Arlington distribution hub. That facility serves as an inventory center for an array of automotive accessories, crash and collision parts, 4x4/off-road equipment, and RV parts in the region.
