Midland officials recently reminded local residents of its online forum, which can be used to submit a maintenance request upon noticing any problems the county should be notified of. The system receives up to 300 requests per month, according to CBS 7 News.

“So they can upload pictures, they put in the address, they put in what the nature of their request is, and then they can track it along the way,” Karisa Danley, Communications Manager, City of Midland said, CBS 7 reported. “Once it’s closed by the city staff, they’re then also sent a survey which– requesting feedback for our city staff to see how timely we were and how they felt the process was.”

Established a few years ago, the system was designed to help alert city officials about potential issues faster and track the city’s progress concerning the issue and general improvements to the city, per the CBS 7 report.

The system is compatible with both desktop and mobile devices though the appearance of the interface may vary, according to CBS 7. The desktop version of the forum offers 61 different forms separated into 14 different categories to allow for specific selections. Categories include water quality and waste, problems with the streets, and code violations, among others.

“So you’re not clicking into each individual section, you’ll just simply write in the description yourself,” Danley said, CBS 7 reported. “It’ll ask you for what the address is, it’ll also map it for you, and then it’ll ask for your contact information. You can also snap a picture on your phone and upload it right there within that page.”
