Even with no spring sports season, Midland High School still took time recently to recognize the contributions of junior Eleanor Haycock as their Teammate of the Week.
In a release from Midland High School, the Chemic lacrosse goalie was praised by head lacrosse Coach Pam Wilson for her ongoing dedication to the team and the sport.
“As soon as her helmet goes on, you can see in her eyes that she is ready to play,” Wilson said in the release.” Her teammates know that she will be their eyes in the goal when needed.”
Even without a season to play in this year, Haycock still exemplified the values of teamwork during early practices, helping to bring the other goalies up to speed on how the team operates, Wilson said.
Haycock led the junior varsity lacrosse team to an undefeated season last school year, and though she was denied a chance to carry on that effort this year by the COVID-19 crisis, Wilson said the team looks forward to having her as goalie when competition starts back up next season.
