West Texas FC (WTXFC) has announced the addition of two European wingers, Christian Pulisic and Yart Van Lieshout, to its roster for the 2025 season. The club shared this development on its Facebook page.
According to WTXFC, Pulisic traveled from Milan, Italy, to Midland to participate in open tryouts held at Reyes Mashburn Fields on March 22. His soccer resume includes playing for AC Milan, Chelsea FC, and Borussia Dortmund. The club said that although Pulisic did not excel in the technical drills, he provided chocolate for the entire team, which he will be part of for a couple of years.
Van Lieshout joins WTXFC on loan from Cal State Northridge, a prominent institution in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men’s soccer. Originally from Eindhoven, Netherlands, Van Lieshout is no stranger to Texas as he previously attended and played for Tyler Junior College (TJC), where he received numerous awards.
The club will enter its third season in 2025 as the defending Lone Star Conference champions. The team is set to begin its campaign on May 17 with an away game against the Fort Worth Vaqueros and will host its home opener against Oklahoma United FC at Astound Broadband Stadium on May 25.
