The Midland Police Department (MPD) held its 33rd Annual Awards Banquet at the Bush Convention Center on March 27, as mentioned in a Facebook post.
According to the MPD, the banquet is an occasion to recognize officers and staff members who consistently go above and beyond for the community. The police department expressed gratitude to Indulgence Catering for providing food and the Dueling Piano Eighty Eights Show for entertaining guests.
Awards presented included the Medal of Service, the Distinguished Service Medal, and the Medal of Valor, according to a press release issued by the City of Midland. The department’s Field Operations Bureau, Investigative Services Bureau, Support Services Bureau, and Administrative Services Bureau were also acknowledged with awards.
The following individuals received accolades: Retired Lt. Sean Sharp, Antonio Galindo, Timothy Davidson, Sgt. Taylor Welch, Sgt. Doug Sauls, Sgt. Stephen Fulton, Officer Malcolm Pherson, Officer Garrett Allcorn, Officer Leah Raines, Sgt. Ryan Raines, Officer Braden Brunson, Officer Leah Valenzuela, Officer Tristan Zambrano, Officer Draven Martinez, Sgt. Stephen Truex, Detective Tyler Thompson, Officer Adrian Carta, and Officer Michael Rosero.
Other honorees included Officer Arturo Garcia, Officer Stevie Vargas, Officer Dylan Bogart, Lidia Pando, Sgt. Richard Alonzo, Detective Zachery Chesworth, Cassandra Elmendorf, Officer Earl Davis, Mia Rodriguez, DJ Goswick, Officer Jorge Jimenez, Resa Poe; Lt. Joseph Garcia; Sgt. Linvel Mosby; Sgt. Hailee Pepper; Officer Cole Etheredge; Officer Eric Zamora; and Officer Xzavier Martinez.
