West Texas FC (WTXFC) has announced the signing of goalkeeper Pedro Montañés in a Facebook post.

According to WTXFC’s March 21 post, Montañés is a native of Zaragoza, Spain, and a product of the Spanish youth system. He played in the top U-19 league in Spain, known as División de Honor Juvenil, and is ranked fifth in his country for the least goals conceded.

The club added that Montañés attends and plays for Goldey-Beacom College in Delaware, highlighting his impact on the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II. "He’s an explosive keeper with better feet than most – we are confident Pedro will come into the squad and continue to build on our strong goalkeeper unit," said the post. Montañés will assist fellow Spaniard and returning WTXFC player Santiago Nebot in preventing opposing goals this summer.

According to West Texas FC, the team will be entering its third season in 2025 as the defending Lone Star Conference champions. It will begin the campaign on May 17 with an away game against the Fort Worth Vaqueros and will have its home opener against Oklahoma United FC at Astound Broadband Stadium on May 25.
