The City of Midland has acknowledged the 2024-2025 Midland Youth Advisory Council (YAC) in celebration of Youth Leadership Month, which is observed across the United States throughout February.

According to a February 26 Facebook post, the YAC demonstrates that the city's young individuals are taking initiative. Members are gaining insights into municipal government, networking, and public service while making a significant impact on their community. City Councilwoman Robin Poole serves as the group's advisor.

The YAC was established through a collaboration between the city and the Bush Family Home State Historic Site. Membership is available to high school students from tenth to twelfth grade. As part of their involvement, program participants engage in a service project devised by the group and will receive a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the program.

The city announced that it will invite applications for its 2025-2026 YAC during the summer.
