The Midland International Air & Space Port experienced a notable increase in airline passengers during January 2025. The airport recorded 51,190 passengers, marking an 8.35% rise compared to the same month in the previous year when there were 47,247 passengers. This surge has brought the fiscal year-to-date passenger total to 248,116, reflecting a 6.87% growth from Fiscal Year 2023-24.

Southwest Airlines carried the most significant portion of these passengers, accounting for approximately 42.9% of the total in January. United Airlines followed with 29.3%. Other airlines operating at the airport include American Eagle and Delta.

City officials have also noted an increase in parking revenue at the airport, which rose by 9.43% in January compared to January 2024. The net parking revenue reached $717,964 for January, increasing the fiscal year-to-date total to $2.887 million—a 9.66% increase over the first four months of Fiscal Year 2023-24.

The additional funds generated from increased passenger numbers and parking will be directed towards infrastructure improvements at Midland International Air & Space Port. These enhancements include terminal modernization, relocating passenger screening areas, and expanding parking facilities.
