MCSO arrests six in sex offender compliance operation

The Midland County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) conducted a sex offender compliance operation on February 21 in Midland County, resulting in six arrests. This was reported in a Facebook post by the MCSO.

According to the post dated February 22, the Texas Department of Public Safety's Criminal Investigations Division assisted the MCSO with the operation. The sheriff’s office identified those apprehended as James Creel, aged 42; Charles Thompson, aged 53; John Ledford, aged 55; Frank Villa, aged 60; Bradley Kelly, aged 25; and Howard Taylor, aged 53. Each suspect was found to be out of compliance with registration requirements.

The MCSO said that Creel, Villa, and Kelly were arrested for failing to comply with their duty to register as sex offenders either annually or for life. Meanwhile, Thompson, Ledford, and Taylor were arrested for failing to comply with their duty to register quarterly or for life. Authorities also charged Thompson with possession of a controlled substance.

All six individuals have been booked into the Midland County Central Detention Center.
