The City of Midland is currently accepting applications for outside agency funding from the municipal budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The deadline for submissions is March 26.

According to a February 21 press release issued by the city, these applications pertain to funding in the budget year beginning October 1, 2025. The funds will be allocated only for events occurring between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026.

The city said that a citizen advisory board reviews hotel/motel and city development-related funding requests. Each year, the city allocates funds for promoting tourism and the hotel industry, encouraging city growth and development, and supporting other activities that extend city services.

Currently, over 20 agencies receive funding through this process. Past recipients include the Arts Council of Midland, VisitMidland, Midland College's Business and Economic Development Center, Teen Court, and Permian Basin Community Centers of Midland. For application details or further information, interested parties are advised to contact Marcia Bentley-German at mbentley-german@midlandtexas.gov or (432) 685-7430.
