A Greenwood Independent School District (ISD) student attending Midland College (MC) is highlighting the benefits of the college's dual credit program.

According to a Facebook post by MC, Haeden Wingrove is pursuing a certificate in automotive technology. The school emphasizes that his choice to attend MC while still in high school exemplifies their approach to cultivating "the future workforce." The institution added that its career and technical programs are not merely classes but represent lifestyles in careers that students are highly interested in.

The school said, "With hands-on training and industry-recognized certificates, our students are job-ready from day one, meeting today’s demands and fueling tomorrow’s progress." They continued, "We celebrate Haeden and all our students who are turning passion into purpose."

In an accompanying video, Wingrove explained that he grew up around the dirt track with his family and father. "I wanted to follow in his footsteps. With being around cars, you need to know how to work them," he said. He noted that the professors come from the field and prepare him for everything that can happen in his career. Wingrove mentioned learning about various aspects of cars: "We have done suspension, tearing the motors apart and putting them back together. We’re also learning some diagnostics. We’ve learned what the tools are and how to use them. We have learned a lot."
