The Midland Fire Department (MFD) responded to a structure fire on the east side of the city on February 16.
According to a Facebook post, firefighters were summoned to the incident in the 1600 block of East Pine Avenue at approximately 10:18 a.m.
MFD reported that the fire displaced five adults and three children. A press release issued by the fire department said that no injuries were reported.
The incident is currently under investigation. This marks the third weekend fire MFD has battled since the year began. According to Midland Times, MFD responded to two structure fires over the weekend of February 8.
One of these fires occurred in the 500 block of East Stokes Avenue, consuming two trailers and a chicken coop. The other was an alleged arson at County Road 1192 and West County Road 114, which authorities said resulted in a total loss of property. No injuries were reported in either incident.
