MFD extinguishes weekend structure blaze on south side of city

The Midland Fire Department (MFD) reported that firefighters battled a fire in the southern part of the city on March 15.

According to a press release, the fire broke out at a structure in the 3600 block of East County Road 171. Firefighters arrived at 11:13 p.m., according to authorities.

The fire department said that four recreational vehicles (RVs) and a car were involved in the incident, but no injuries were reported.

Midland Times reported that so far this year, MFD has addressed five weekend fires. Midland and surrounding areas are currently under a red warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) due to critical fire conditions.
