The Midland Fire Department (MFD) responded to two structure fires over the weekend, as reported on its Facebook page.
According to MFD, the first incident took place at approximately 2:42 p.m. on February 8 in the 500 block of East Stokes Avenue. Authorities say firefighters extinguished a fire that destroyed two trailers and a chicken coop. The incident displaced five people, who were unharmed.
A day later, at 7:47 p.m., firefighters were called to an incident at County Road 1192 and West County Road 114. The fire consumed an abandoned residence, which MFD determined to be a total loss and suspected arson.
No injuries were reported in either incident. The Midland County Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation into the fires.
