Safety upgrades are underway for two MISD campuses

Safety upgrades to Midland High School are currently in progress, as reported by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

The project, valued at $144,620, includes various security enhancements to the vestibule area of the campus. The school is situated at 906 West Illinois Avenue.

According to TDLR, the project was scheduled to commence on February 15 and is expected to be completed by May 15. Midland Independent School District (ISD) Chief Operations Officer Cortney Smith is overseeing the project.

TDLR also reports that similar safety improvements have been planned for Legacy Freshman High School. The upgrades, estimated at $127,000, will take place at the campus located at 1400 East Oak Avenue.
