Midland Independent School District (ISD) is emphasizing the advantages of technology careers during Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month.
The district announced on Facebook that it offers 32 career pathways designed to prepare students for college, military service, or entry into the workforce after graduation. "Many of the programs include industry-based certifications," the district said. "Thank you to our CTE teachers and industry partners for preparing students for their future."
According to the district's website, students can explore specific subject areas through a career cluster. The program provides sequences of courses that lead to an endorsement, similar to a college degree. These pathways include opportunities for industry-based certifications, student organization involvement, and work-based learning.
The CTE program has been expanded for this year’s 9th-grade class, as noted on the district website. Among the programs available for enrollment are biomedical science, health data coordinator, medical assistant, sterile processing technician, and teaching and training.
