The current Miss Texas titleholder visited Midland on Friday to address students about the importance of confidence.
According to a Facebook post by Midland Independent School District (ISD), Annette Addo-Yobo, first runner-up to Miss America 2025, spoke at the Young Women's Leadership Academy of Midland and Fannin Elementary Mustangs. "She shared an inspiring message about the power of authenticity and believing in yourself," the district wrote. "Thank you, Miss Texas, for empowering our students today with your words of encouragement!"
According to a University of Texas at Dallas news release, Addo-Yobo is a native of Ghana and is the first immigrant-born winner of the Miss Texas Scholarship pageant. She became a U.S. citizen in 2022 after living with her family.
Addo-Yobo was named First Runner Up at the 2025 Miss America Pageant on January 5 after being named Miss Texas in 2024. Miss Alabama, Abbie Stockard, was crowned Miss America at the event in Orlando.
